Welcome to the Hunter SISP STEM Awards information Page. On this page, you will find everything you need to know to quickly and easily get ready to enter this year's awards. Here's what we're going to cover

Important Dates

The Hunter SISP STEM Awards would not be possible without the support of our State and Local Industry Partners and Supporters

The Award Categories

Entries will be welcomed from students (& classes) from years 3 through 12  within varying STEM categories and electronic entry requirements.

Year 3 - 4 & 5 - 6

Students, with the support of their teachers, will complete an electronic entry showcasing a project they have completed in one or more of the following areas:

STEM

Science & Technology

Judges will pick out standout projects, all entries to receive some form of acknowledgement.

Years 7 & 8

Students, with the support of their teachers, will complete an electronic entry showcasing a project they have completed in one or more of the following areas:

Mandatory Tech | STEM

Science | Math

Judges will pick out standout projects, all entries to receive some form of acknowledgement.

Years 9 & 10

Students, with the support of their teachers, will complete an electronic entry showcasing a project they have completed in one or more of the following areas:

Maths | Science | Integrated STEM | Design & Technology | Food Tech | Graphic Technology

Information & Software Technology | Industrial Technology | Agricultural Technology

Marine & Aquaculture Technology | Textiles Technology

Judges will pick out standout projects, all entries to receive some form fo acknowledgement.

Years 11 - 12

Students with the support of their teachers will be required to submit their entry electronically. Judges will pick standout winners, all entries to receive some form of acknowledgement.

Diversity In STEM - School Award

A key focus of the SISP program and the STEM Awards is recognising, motivating and promoting equitable opportunities for rural, remote, Aboriginal and females in STEM.

The Diversity In STEM School Award is about acknowledging and celebrating the work that your schools does in promoting Diversity In STEM.

Share, with us, the information and outcomes on the program, initiatives or activities that your schools has used to achieved Diversity In STEM.

What You Need to Now About Entering The Awards

Public School

The SISP Program is an NSW Department of Education funded program. Entries into the SISP STEM Awards is limited to public primary and high schools.

Capped Entries

Public schools throughout the Hunter Region will be invited to enter two (2) students/classes per year and category. I.e. Two entries Year 11 Engineering Studies.

Electronic

All entries must be submitted electronically through the respective SISP STEM Award region entry system, which is on this website.

How To Enter The Awards

If there are any questions about the awards or the entry process you regional team are here to help you.

Review Award Category Information 

Before embarking on the entries for your school ensure that you have reviewed the award categories. Choose those students who will be entering the awards program from your school.

Collate Student Information

Assist the student to collate their project/study information and then create a PDF document which can be uploaded to the entry system. If you want to include video or other types of media, provide a link to an area where it has been uploaded e.g YouTube, Vimeo, DropBox.   

Submit The Application Electronically

Once you have the student's information collated and in a single PDF document you are ready to enter the awards. On this site navigate to the region award entry page for your school. Complete school and student details, upload the PDF and submit.   

RSVP For The Award Ceremony

RSVP for the Award Ceremony. Please be sure to invite the student and family to attend. The Award Ceremony is a free event. Refreshments will be served, we look forward to seeing you, your students and family members attending.

Save The Date - The Award Ceremony

All award winners (as nominated by our judging panel) will receive their awards at The Hunter SISP STEM Central Award Ceremony at Newcastle University on Wednesday 11th December.

An invitation for award winners, their parents and school representatives will be issued closer to the date.
